Jennifer Grigg

A Free Spirit Kind of Coach

Hi, I’m Jen! I ‘m here to help you find yourself again in the crazy adventure we call life.

This is my story.

My Story

Hi, I’m Jennifer Grigg. I was an extremely shy child and a socially awkward adult which made me strive to find ways to better understand and improve myself.  I’ve grown from shy introvert to firefighter to coach and speaker and now I help other free spirits, misfits, nonconformists and square pegs do the same for themselves and embrace who they really are.

My fascination with self-empowerment led me to studying body language and human behaviour in order to understand others better but also to develop my own people skills in the same way I was drawn to holistic wellness coaching in order to find my way to living a fuller, healthier, more zenny life (yes, I just made that word up lol).

I’m drawn to kindred souls and find that it’s usually because of one of two things;

1) they’re a fellow introvert like me (or an introverted extrovert, or an extroverted introvert, or even an ambivert…point being, a large part of their life and personality is lived internally.

2) a shared experience of childhood trauma in some form or another which caused life long battles with their own personal demons and resulted in avoidance through addiction – to drugs and/or alcohol and depression and/or anxiety. Mine were the latter two.

If you don’t fall into either of those, but still think you might want to work with me, that’s totally doable. I have good friends that fall outside of those categories too. 🙂

I’m into meditating, yoga, journalling, reading books and other woo-woo spiritual stuff like crystals and visualization. Although no longer a firefighter, I still work with fire service offering training and presentations on mental wellness and nonverbal communication.

My Values & Beliefs

You are Enough

No matter what’s happened in your life to make you think you’re not enough (whatever it is for you – smart, worthy, capable), I know that you absolutely are enough. Self-doubt is powerful but so are you.

How you react to fear is either look at it as False Evidence Appearing Real or you fall into the Forget Everything and Run response. I lived much of my life afraid of my own shadow but everything changed when I started walking into my fear the way I walked into fire.

It's Your Life to Live

Sometimes we get so caught up in living our lives for others (spouses, kids, parents), we don’t even feel like we have a life. But when the voice on the inside gets louder and clearer than the voices on the outside, you start living your life your way.

My Approach

I won’t tell you how to live your life but I sure can tell you what helped me to finally live mine – fully and completely.

I’m not a linear thinker so I won’t give you a laundry list of things you have to do and benchmarks you need to achieve. I’m a creative, fluid person and that’s how I live and how I coach.

There are many tools and resources available to help you but not every tool works for every person. There is no one size fits all. I’ve tried so many techniques – some worked, some didn’t.  Life is all about figuring it as you go and adjusting along the way until you get the result you’re after.

So my approach is very much a matter of finding out what works for you.
